Historical Facts....

-- Trinity was started by Bishop  M. L. Lawson Anderson around 1935 in a brush harbor. Bishop M. L. Anderson served as the church’s pastor until her passing on February 25, 1985.

---By divine inspiration, the mission was given the name “Trinity Church of the Living God” because she knew the triune manifestations of the Father, Son, & Holy Ghost (1 John 5:7) were one in the One True and Living God, Christ Jesus (Colossians 2:9).

---The music of the first church was tambourines, cymbals, triangles, hand clapping, and foot tapping.

---Charter members of the church included: Brother Charles William Lawson (1935-1958), Missionary Evelyn Hylton Tatum (1935-1972), and Mother Belle Davis Tatum (1935-1972). Others soon joined Overseer Mary Roseanne (M.R.) Millner (1944-2003), Bishop Burgie L. Penn (1948-Present),Mother Maggie Tatum Clark (1949-1964), Missionary Beulah Hylton King(1960-1971), Brother Gentry A. King Sr. (1961-1978).

---Trinity has served under such leaders as Bishop M. L. Anderson (1935-1985 as pastor; 1957-1985, as senior bishop), Elder R. J. Penn (1985-1986), Bishop Mary R. Millner (1986-1988 as pastor; 1985-2003 as senior bishop) and Bishop Burgie L. Penn (1988-Present as pastor, 2003-Present as senior bishop).

--- Trinity serves as the headquarters church of the True Apostolic Churches of the Living God (TAC of the LG).  TAC of the LG consists of three more churches: Gospel Temple No. 1 & No. 2 True Churches of the Living God (Bishop Charles W. Millner, Pastor) and Powerhouse of Faith Church of the Living God (Elder Ernestine Penn, Pastor).

What We Believe In:
---- We believe and teach the apostolic doctrine as given by Jesus Christ (Acts 2:42).

---- We believe that there is but one living and true God Everlasting, Jesus Christ, in whom is all power, all wisdom, and goodness. He is the creator of heaven, earth, and sea and all that is in them (John 1:1-3, 1:14; Isaiah 9:6; I John 5:20).

----- We believe in baptism of the Holy Ghost, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues, as it was on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-14;    19:5; 10:43-46; Luke 11:13)

---- We believe in repentance, water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38, 19:5, 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 8:12; Acts 22:16; Colossians 3:17).

--- We believe in sanctification and holiness (Titus 2:12; Hebrews 12:14; Romans 12:1; James 4:4; 1 Peter 4:18).

--- We believe in the resurrection of the dead and the Second Coming of Christ.
